The Food Trucks of Houston Mini Maker Faire

When you have an event with such amazing leading-edge invention and creativity like the Houston Mini Maker Faire, the food must live up to that high standard. The same old high-priced soggy pizza and lukewarm soft drinks simply won’t do. So we’re proud to announce these gourmet food trucks will be serving at Maker Faire. They’ve been selected from the best of the best in the Houston area – the list includes trucks recognized nationally as leaders in this industry, and the burgers voted by the public as the best available in Houston (from any establishment).

Aracan Kitchen

Aracan Kitchen is not so much a food truck as a giant roaming gourmet kitch on wheels. Ara Malekian is an executive chef with years of gourmet experience and we can’t wait to taste what he whips up for Maker Faire.

Got Robots?

Robot Competition

It’s clear that robots and robotics will be all around us in the future. Many of the most important problems facing us today will be solved with robotics, ranging from handling and cleanup of hazardous materials to better protect us, to smart manufacturing to enrich our lives. Some even say that in 5 years or so robots will be driving cars on the streets of Houston – without human assistance!

Robot Competition

You can learn a lot more about robotics at the Houston Mini Maker Faire. Techno Chaos (a leading STEM education business in the Houston area), collaborating with educators and leaders across Houston, is managing the exhibition of 12 different types of robotics, with a primary focus on educational robotics programs. Real examples, operated by real students, will be demonstrated in one large coordinated area. This is the most-comprehensive display of educational robotics ever in Texas, and one of the broadest to appear anywhere. If you’re a student of ages 6 – 18 (or a parent), come learn about robotics programs designed for you, the important benefits students get from participation, and how you can get involved. Educators can see first-hand how these programs build critical skills for the future, ranging from real-world problem solving and systems thinking to teamwork and leadership. Hobbyists aged 7 – 77 can learn how to start robotics projects and the different technology platforms available. And leaders desiring to get involved through support, sponsorship or mentorship can gain keen insights into the value delivered through this wide range of programs.

We invite everyone to come experience this exceptional part of the Houston Mini Maker Faire. Even if you think you’ve “seen it all” – we have some surprises for you. But we do have just one warning – be very careful about mixing robotics with 3D printing, since that combination is known to cause explosions of inspiration and aspiration as people recognize all the amazing potential now available at their fingertips!
